What is Cellulite?
Cellulite is a deformity in the form of fatty deposits that form in the layer under the skin. Although created under the skin, it is also visible on the surface. On the surface, it manifests as nodules, which is a consequence of incorrectly distributed fat deposits under the skin. Many cellulite treatments are available in the Soze beauty salon.
Common names for cellulite are “orange-peel” skin, “cottage-cheese” skin, hail damage, and the mattress phenomenon.
Cellulite most often appears on the thighs, buttocks, calves, lower back, and abdomen.
In some people, cellulite also appears on other parts of the body, such as the upper arms or neck. Because it is a set of fat deposits, muscles become weak and undefined, and that’s the reason the deposits are visible.
What Causes Cellulite?
The causes of cellulite are not fully understood and the following factors are likely to be involved:
- Genetic. Some people have predispositions for this skin condition. You have more chance of getting it if other women in the family have it.
- Hormonal. Estrogen, insulin, noradrenaline, thyroid hormones, and prolactin are part of the cellulite production process. Cellulite can affect both men and women, but it is more common in females, due to the different distributions of fat, muscle, and connective tissue. Over 80% of women over the age of 20 have some degree of cellulite.
- Lifestyle. Diet and exercises hold a fair share of contribution. A diet low in fat, smoking cessation, and an active lifestyle may help reduce cellulite. Extreme diet, however, may produce adverse effects as thinner skin makes it more visible.
Most women have cellulite. That’s normal, but if yours bothers you, there are ways to make it less noticeable. Many techniques may be successful in reducing the appearance of cellulite by breaking up the bands of connective tissue under the surface of the skin. The most popular are:
Cellulite Massage Treatment
Cellulite Massage is the most popular and most widely used anti-cellulite treatment. But, you should have in mind that massage is only one link in the chain and that is not a “magical” treatment and that the results will be true only if all the recommendations are followed, namely: diet, enough fluids, enhanced physical activity, and massage.
Massage isn’t a cure for cellulite but it might temporarily improve skin’s appearance and make cellulite less noticeable.
Massage may be able to improve the appearance of cellulite by:
- draining excess body fluid
- redistributing fat cells
- improving circulation
- plumping up skin
If you want a painless treatment that does not last long and works on reducing cellulite, a body wrap treatment is ideal for you. It’s non-invasive, painless, and very effective. This treatment removes cellulite, tighten and rejuvenates the skin, and removes excess water and toxins from the body.
It begins with exfoliation that removes dead skin cells. The aesthetician will then apply oils and ingredients to the body, depending on the wrap. Afterwards, they may wrap you in plastic, blankets, or bandages. These wraps aim to boost circulation to help flush toxins away from your skin and underlying fat, for a smoother, bump-free appearance. Generally, these wraps target the bottom, hip, and thigh area alone. Once fully wrapped by your aesthetician, you’ll be left to relax for up to 30 minutes. It will provide you with some valuable – and rare – mental and physical downtime.
Matherotherapy is a holistic massage technique that uses anatomically designed wooden tools which allow highly targeted pressure applied to problem areas (such as thighs, buttocks, love handles, and abdomen).
The technique involves repetitive movements using different wooden instruments to manipulate targeted areas of muscle, fat, and cellulite, stimulating the lymphatic drainage system to remove unnecessary water, fat, and toxins from the body. That way it stimulates the production of elastin and collagen and eliminates cellulite at its root.
A series of 10,15 to 20 treatments is necessary to achieve the desired results.
LPG endermologie is a well-tolerated and effective method for reducing the diameter of body circumference, however, it is mildly effective in reducing the cellulite grade and so, improving its orange-peel appearance. This treatment is performed in the form of a vacuum-like device that lifts the skin. After the treatment, the skin becomes smooth, elastic, fresh, and the muscle tissue under the skin is improved.
During the procedure, you should drink more water (about 2 to 2.5 litres per day) to induce the removal of excess fat, and toxins can be more easily released through the urine.
Cellulite Creams and Gels
There is evidence that some creams and gels work by promoting lipolysis, stimulating collagen, and increasing blood flow and lymphatic drainage. They combine the action of various active ingredients with the action of massage movements used in rubbing. The effect is very high when you are committed to this treatment, and when you have the right cream.
Caffeine is one of the most common active ingredients in cellulite creams. It dehydrates cells, making them less visible. To maintain the results, you’ll have to apply the product every day.
Retinol may reduce the appearance of cellulite by thickening the skin. Before you’ll know if retinol can help you, you’ll need to apply the product for at least 6 months.
After the end of the treatment, it is advisable to occasionally do treatments to maintain the achieved condition.
- Increase your fluid intake and avoid sugar and fried food. Instead, intake food rich in fibre;
- Physical activity at least 2-3 times a week, such as walking, cycling, or gym. The role of physical activity is important in terms of strengthening circulation and muscles;
- Wear tight clothing as little as possible, because it weakens circulation and lymphatic drainage, avoid high heels;
- Do not starve yourself, and avoid rigorous diets. It has counter-effects;
